All Aboard for the C150 Steam Train

The ballot is now open for a chance to board the steam train in one of four day trips from Cloncurry to Marimo siding in celebration of 150 years of Cloncurry.

Cloncurry Shire Council Mayor Greg Campbell said, “The countdown is on, with one month until the steam train arrives in Cloncurry. Don’t miss out on the opportunity that only comes once in 150 years and get your nomination in for the tickets.”

“The steam train will roll into the Cloncurry Station on Thursday 15 June at approximately 3pm and will be greeted by a welcoming party of Cloncurry residents just in time for the Cloncurry Show.”

Day trips out of Cloncurry will be held on Friday 16 June and Sunday 18 June with two trips per day.

Terms and conditions apply and are available on the nomination form with a limit of four tickets per nomination. Tickets will be $5.00 each with proceeds to be donated to a local community organisation.

The steam train will commence its journey from Townsville on 12 June 2017, stopping in towns across the Overlander’s Way before arriving in Cloncurry.

Nomination forms can be found on the Council website cloncurrry.qld.gov.au/c150 or by visiting the Council office 38-46 Daintree Street, Cloncurry.

Nominations are due 5.00pm Friday 2 June 2017 and will be drawn on Monday 5 June 2017.

The welcoming event will commence at the Cloncurry Railway Station, Hutchinson Parade from 2.30pm with a BBQ, music and more.
