Council Staff

Council employs an experienced and diverse team. The day to day running of the Shire is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer, who, along with Directors and staff, act on the Council's decisions by developing and putting into practice the Council policies and resolutions.

Executive Leadership Team

Chief Executive Officer | Tammy Parry

A proud Northwest Queensland local, Tammy was born and raised in the region and brings a deep understanding of the communities, people and challenges that make Cloncurry Shire unique. She is well known across the North West and is widely regarded as a well-connected and highly respected leader within both local and state government.

Ms Parry joins Council with an extensive career in the Queensland State Government, having worked across a range of roles within the health sector and more recently in state development, where she is currently based in Mount Isa as Regional Director for the Department of State Development. Her breadth of experience, strong commitment to public service and genuine passion for regional growth position her well to lead Council into its next chapter.

 

Director of Corporate Services | Gary Pemberton

Gary Pemberton was appointed as Council’s Director of Corporate Services in June 2022. He has a background in Public Accounting (Local Government Audit) and has worked in various Local Government roles across Queensland and the Northern Territory. Gary is looking forward to contributing to the Cloncurry Shire Council. Gary and his much-loved dog Frank are excited to get out and explore Cloncurry, which is the biggest town they’ve lived in the last 6 years.

Director of Infrastructure & Environment | Chris Rohan

Chris Rohan started with Cloncurry Shire Council in 2023 as Director of Infrastructure and Environment.

Director of Projects | Richard Wilkes

Appointed on 22 April 2025, Richard brings over two decades of experience working across local, state and the private sector in project delivery, project planning, and project leadership to his role as Director of Projects.

Richard is passionate about mentoring and encouraging junior staff and fostering the next generation of project management professionals.

His commitment to mentorship and community service reflects his belief in the power leadership that encourages, inspires and uplift others.
